Srinagar, May 16 (KNO): Srinagar International Airport, Kashmir's only operational airport, is witnessing a gradual but steady revival, with increased flight operations and passenger traffic indicating growing confidence in the valley’s connectivity. According to data accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), on May 15, the airport handled a total of 44 flights—22 arrivals and 22 departures, carrying approximately 6,844 passengers, including 641 pilgrims heading for Hajj. The airport’s activity continued to rise on Friday, with reports of 40 flights - 20 arrivals and 20 departures - serving around 5,720 passengers. A local visitor said, “It feels good to see the airport picking up pace again. Travel has become easier, and it encourages more people to visit Kashmir." It is noteworthy that Srinagar Airport had experienced reduced flight operations and cancellations over the past week amid tensions between India and Pakistan. Now, the airport is gradually regaining normalcy—(KNO)
